About me

My name is Lachlan Mahoney. I am 17 and Australian, but for the past several years I have been living in Mongolia after moving from England. I have been to 31 countries and been photographing them for about 4 years. I am a self taught photographer with the dream of one day making it big in the industry. This blog is my way of sharing my world with everyone, and bringing them along on my amazing adventures as well as showing how I progress with my photography. I currently am shooting on a fuji x100s (which is something I absolutely adore), I do also shoot on my Canon 600D with a few different lenses. I hope you guys enjoy my blog, since the I started it almost a year ago the support I've gotten has been amazing. So if you feel like it share it with anyone you want.

Thank you all so much.

My top 9 countires you must visit

So if you remember I have been to 27 countries, and because of this i have decided that I should do a top 10 countries to visit. So here they are (all the photos that are used in this top 10 are all mine although some do not have water marks on them)

Number 9: Santorini, Greece.

The beauty of this place is defiantly something you should see but going during the peek season is not the best idea, the crowds there are extremely thick. But there are a very large selection of beautiful restaurants that you can go eat at, and a ton of really cool little shops you can go buy some very unique souvenirs and meet some very unique.
Something to keep in mind tho is that there are very events and activities you can do while you are there.

Number 8: Song Saa, Cambodia (or any other island or private island)

Off the south coast of Cambodia there are a load of stunningly
beautiful islands and private islands, and Song Saa is a private island about 30 minutes off the south west coast of Cambodia, and this is just the one that I stayed at but there are literally hundreds of other islands around the country that are jut as beautiful. The island has daily activities that are more aimed at the adults but there are plenty of activities for the kids, also most of the villas are on or in the sea giving you a beautiful view as well as being able to go swim in the ocean when ever you want. This is a holiday that everyone should experience if they have the chance to but it isn't something you probably won't want to do again as after a week the activities start to become repetitive.
The people and the villages you can visit do make the trip worth it.

Number 7: Istanbul, Turkey

The capital of Turkey, where east meets west is a busy metropolisi full of beautiful city streets, mosques, amazing bazaars, beautiful traditions and extremely friendly people, coupled with the amazing Turkish food is not a trip to miss out on. The people of Turkey are interesting and full of friendly faces and interesting stories, but have no problem with conning you into buying one of there world renowned and beautiful rugs. The beauty of this city really is not something you  should miss and is deffinatly some where I would happily visit again.
But it is not really a place that the kids will enjoy because I know my younger brother were bored after a day but for the older age groups that don't need theme parks and attractions it is a perfect holiday.

Number 6: Paris, France

Sadly this was a country I visited before I was into photography. But like the photos and movies suggest it is a beautiful city with stunning sights, gorgeous food, beautiful people. and has an amazing history.
Unlike Istanbul and many other famous cities there is a huge variety for the whole family, there are plenty of theme parks including Disney Land Paris one of the most famous with plenty of fun for the family, and for the parents or couples that visit there are hundreds of amazing restaurants for your dinning choices, and I doubt there is one that will disappoint. The sights as well are amazing and something you can't miss; The Eiffel Tower, Arch de Triomphe, The louvre and for the thrill seekers the underground catacombs will give you the thrill and spook you need.
Paris is a must see if you get a chance.

Number 5: India (all of it)

India sadly is also a place like Paris where I didn't have my own camera nor was into photography but it was where I started to become interested in it.
The entire country is full of vibrant and interesting people and sites, whether you are visiting a old temple or a new mall there is always something happening and a huge amount of colour, No matter where you go in the country as long as you can barter and have great guides this country will not fail to give you memories that will last a life time. It is definitely a place that you can't just go to once as there are so many places that you must see when you go, from the Taj Mahal, to the Northern Rajastan districts down to the south Indian regions the country is full of interesting food, people, and beliefs that cannot be missed out on.

Number 4: Bail, Indonesia

Bail is a one of the Island states in Indonesia and like India it is full of stunning sights, from their monkey forests, to the volcano in the north, to their southern beaches, as well as the beautiful and unique temples and their very different traditions including the offerings that are placed out every morning and night. There is also a variety of activities throughout Bali, there are water parks and a high rope out door activity thing sort of like go ape in England, and a lot of beach clubs and nice restaurants for the adults, But the whole family must witness the stunning temples as well as the beautiful monkey forests full of these adorable monkeys. Be careful tho these monkeys are very cheeky and will nick you hats.

Number 3: Mongolia (mainly for the Gobi)

Although it may be a bit bias because I currently live here, Mongolia really is an interesting and amazing country full of some really beautiful countryside, some of the prettiest landscapes you will ever see, although the city is heavily polluted and has some of the worst traffic you will ever experience, it has a rich history and a beautiful countryside as well as some really interesting and tough people. The experience of living in a Ger for a week is not something you will forget nor is riding a horse through some of the most beautiful landscape in the world is truly an experience not to miss

Number 2: Rome Italy

Bit of a cliche but it really is an amazing place filled will so many different sights and combines old with new. There are beautiful old sights like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain being walking distance away from each other it really is a sight to see. And when you combine the beautiful sights with the amazing food that you cannot miss because it is basically impossible to. The amazing food is readily available in quite literally every Italian restaurant you will be hard stretched to find something that doesn't suit you.
It isn't for everybody tho, there is not really anything available for the kids, but on the other hand it is perfect for couples, young and old. So it really is worth it.

Number 1: Japan
Japan, home to manga and Sashimi but also a place of rich heritage and sad history. Japan is a really beautiful place which may come to a surprise to some people. The temples that are hundreds and some thousands of years old are truly beautiful, the Hiroshima and Nagasaki peace memorials are surreal, The traditional food is out of this world and the modern metropolis that Tokyo is, is mind boggling how all of this variety is in one small country. There is also plenty for everyone to do. There are enough theme parks to last a life time, the food there is to die for, if the city is your thing then Tokyo is you place but if not then you can head either direction and easily find a small sea side town for your liking. But it is also a photographers heaven, with all types of photography available to you aspiring or established photographers. as well as being the home of Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and so many more.
Japan is one of my favorite places to visit and I would happily go there as often as I can. But it is probably somewhere you should go with someone who knows the language, and definitely someone who is a really good friend or your significant other because it isn't a place that should be seen alone

All though these are very cliche places and they are only my top 9 and I'm sure you all have your own, these are all places I would recommend.
I am sorry about the lack of uploads but school for me recently has become very hectic and a lot of personal stuff has happened recently so I hope you guys don't forget about me because I promise I will try and start uploading daily as soon as I can.
So thank you guys for all the support so fair.
