About me

My name is Lachlan Mahoney. I am 17 and Australian, but for the past several years I have been living in Mongolia after moving from England. I have been to 31 countries and been photographing them for about 4 years. I am a self taught photographer with the dream of one day making it big in the industry. This blog is my way of sharing my world with everyone, and bringing them along on my amazing adventures as well as showing how I progress with my photography. I currently am shooting on a fuji x100s (which is something I absolutely adore), I do also shoot on my Canon 600D with a few different lenses. I hope you guys enjoy my blog, since the I started it almost a year ago the support I've gotten has been amazing. So if you feel like it share it with anyone you want.

Thank you all so much.

Falling Into Routines

This is one of my favorite photos that I took in Japan and actually just in general, in the picture you can see and old man opening up his shop, and this just shows you how our life can fall into such a repetitive cycle that is very hard to break and if you get to an older age and you are into a routine and enjoy it but if not try and break it do something spontaneous, live life to its fullest potential.
I hope you guys are enjoying my blog so far, it really does mean a lot to me that there are a lot of people out there that actually take a look at my blog so just keep on clicking and creating you own adventure.

Italian Streets

During our trip to Italy we had some free time in the cities, especially in Rome. And Rome truly is a beautiful city full of really interesting people and sights but something that is awesome about Rome is the streets, just how interesting they are and how small they are. The cars literally drive a meter away from where you are eating and it is actually really scary but at the same time something I would happily do again.

Temple Serenity Sometimes

The Japanese temples really do make interesting photos. Sadly tho they have become extremely crowded making it very difficult to take photos of them with out anyone in the way of your photos, but it was a really cool experience and everyone should see a temple not necessarily a Japanese one, but anyone you go to as long as it is authentic is a truly amazing experience.

Macro Magic (well sorta)

Personally I really enjoy macro photography, I like the amount of perfection and patience it takes and how it clears you mind of anything that isn't you photography. although it may not be the mos fun to others here are a few of my macro shots, the top two are on my x100s hence the background still being a thing, and the final one is on my 200mm Sigma lense. I hope you guys like them.

Pier Life

In Australia most of the piers or jetty's are really graffiti-ed and ruin the look of it, but there are a few jetty's that are really interesting and create some very interesting photos that can change your view of graffiti and the way things look at first glance, because with a little inspiration anything can become interesting

Peace at last

Whilst in Japan we went to the Hiroshima memorial from WWII. It was the most surreal place I have even been. The silence that stretches the entire memorial is really amazing and really changes your mind set and makes you feel like you really are at peace.

Cambodian Offerings

Whilst we were on our amazing holiday in Cambodia we went to a private island called Song Saa which is a really beautiful island not much to do but really pretty, sadly this is the only photo that I would consider as a usable photo. But I like it high contrast and all, so I hope that you all do as well.

Challenge accepted

During my Japan trip one of my friends was trying to take a cool photos of my closest friends necklace and his was all right but then he challenged me to see if i could take a better one and these are the results. It doesn't always need to be about winning but when it is and you do win it is truly an awesome feeling.

Waiting for the train

The worst thing about traveling is the waiting that you have to do to get any where, but in Japan and in many other countries it is the way of life, day in and day out people travel to work via car or train and here it shows you people traveling to work on the underground, and to show you that travel isn't always about the destination but the journey it takes you on.

All aboard

Everyone on, well I think that's what they were yelling in Japanese. These are some photos that I took whilst traveling in Japan, and these two are from the bullet trains that they have and to show how age plays a role in what jobs you can do in Japan but none they less they still work. sorta shows us how privileged we are.

Cliche Sunsets are the best

Yeah cliche photos get repetitive, but you have to admit that they really do look nice, so here's mine it's a pic from my Xmas holiday to Bali (which was a must do by the way), so I just had to take a sunset beach shot with a bit of a twist for the subject but I still hope you guys enjoy it.

Mongolian Portraits

These portraits are of the amazingly tough people that are living in the harsh -30 conditions and continue to work day in and day out, even my camera wasn't working just as a comparison of how tough these people are
